Style Council

If you can't guess from the name, the Style Council are New Wave, and feature the singer from 'The Jam' Paul Weller.
The band really does sound like the Jam, especially when you compare "Walls Come Tumbling Down' by the Style Council to 'Going Underground' or 'Town Called Malice' by the Jam.
The former can be found here and the later 2 are here
Whilst having a short career 1983 - 1989, the band recorded a total of 7 albums
Introducing The Style Council (1983)
Café Bleu (1984) UK #2
Our Favourite Shop (1985) UK #1
Home and Abroad (1986) UK #4
The Cost of Loving (1987) UK #2
Confessions of a Pop Group (1988) UK #14
Modernism: A New Decade (1989) (unreleased until 1998)
Their popularity was highest shortly after 1985, when they achieved Mainstream and underground success with 'Our Favourite Shop'
I know alot of people have new wave, thinking it's too poppy, and if that describes you, then you might wanna sterr clear of both the Jam and the Style Council, because despite the meaningful and interesting lyrics, the music is a bit of the pop side of things
Peace
