Revolutions part 2
June 6th 2006 06:58
As Leon pointed out yesterday, I haven't mentioned punk enough lately. So I'll make up for it here if I have to start quoting the song 'Punk is Dead' by Crass
So, as I was saying yesterday, a revolution isn't all that hard to achieve, but the catch is, a violent revolution is the quickest and easiest way to overthrow a government. How can any Punk criticise a violent government and then support a violent revolution?
A pacifistic protest is going to have a greater long term impact upon a government then violence - Martin Luther King and co successfully stopped official support of racism in the USA through non violence, a few student protesters stopped the feignied ignorance that western countries had practiced towards China's human rights abuses through their protest at Tiananman square.
What else have a been rambling about? It's all well and good to support 'Anarchy in the U.K.' and power to you if you do, but have you stopped to think that police, in one form or another, really are needed because as much as we'd like to deny it, there are alot of people out there who would be unable to cope with an anarchic system where everyone does what's best for everyone.
So what am I saying we should do?? I haven't a clue to be honest. Always push for a fair and moral system, don't rely on the media and always hold your own political opinion - no-one can decide what you believe. If we all keep that in mind, no power on earth can betray our revolution.
"The scorpions might attack, but the systems stole the sting
PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD.
PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD.
PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD."
Happy Leon?
