Rage Against the Machine

You see, I'm not completely obsessed with 70's and 80's punk. As much as I hate saying this about a band, it's the lead singer that makes Rage Against so great. Audioslave, which is the same lineup except for the lead singer just doesn't do it for me.
RATM combine hip hop rhythm with the energy and meaning of punk to create music that is suitable for a dingy club or at an anti-government rally. Songs like 'Testify', and 'Geurrilla Radio' are perfect examples of this. Their song, 'Maggie's Farm' is a cover of a Bob Dylan song and a criticism of Margaret Thatcher, which is a link to the old music that I like.
Of all the punk bands taht have split up, Rage Against would have to be the one i most regret not having seen
Is it just me, or does he look like an angry Bob Marley?

Zack De La Rocha is alive and well, There are rumours of him recording a solo album, but until I hear something official, I believe these are simply rumours. He hasn’t been relaxing completely, recording a few songs with other people or bands, including Nine Inch Nails.
