Pure Massacre

Today's post title was fairly aptly chosen (If I do say so myself)
Not only is it the Silverchair song that I'm listening to, but it's also a fair description of the martial arts camp I've been at since Friday evening.
"People, dying, for no reason at all,
Age is no difference or if youre large or small
Families, been torn apart,
Doesnt have to be this way,
Some people, just have no heart,
Its happening every day,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre...
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre...
Machine guns pumping,
Hearts thumping,
Death is all around, yeah,
People crying for freedom,
No one hears the sound, ohhh,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre...
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre...alright,
Theres people crying,
Theres people dying,
But someones taken it all, yeah,
Machine guns pumping,
Hearts thumping,
Death is all around,
People crying for freedom,
No one hears the sound,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre,
Pure massacre,
Its gonna be,
A pure massacre,
Yeah"
Pure Massacre - Silverchair
Actually, reading the lyrics really puts things into perspective, talking about what I went to as a massacre really isn't apt.
On to the song, I have no idea what particular event it's talking about, unless it's just meant as a general comment about war. I reallyhate sounding like an English teacher, but it's a really good song in terms of creating imagery in your mind.
The lyrics are pretty simple, half of them are 'Pure Massacre' but it's done so well that that just helps you focus on how important the words are.
I just love the first Paragraph
"People, dying, for no reason at all,
Age is no difference or if youre large or small
Families, been torn apart,
Doesnt have to be this way,
Some people, just have no heart,
Its happening every day,"
Straight into it, Silverchair waste no time in creating the emotion they want.
The instruments in the song are good, effective and all. No dazzling solo's or overpowering beats, but they would simply detract from the singing.
Awesome song, those of you who don't know Silverchair, listen to Pure Massacre, and read this
Anyhoo, I'm rambling, I'm tired, see you all later
Peace
