Anarchy

April 26th 2006 23:44
I’m not much of an Anarchist really – it is fairly impractical in my opinion, but in the shower I realised (where else could I have had such thoughts...)

The only, truly useless people in our country are the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. For example, it seems to me that the students and teachers combined would know more whom they want in the department of education. Principals could be elected by the school, instead of placed there by someone who has no idea what the school is like.

I managed to resist putting in the anarchy sign, but only just

In the military, the soldiers could elect people to the various ranks. This way, the troops could not be forced to die in some foreign country – the Minister for Defence is worse then useless.

Last example, our dear ol’ Prime Minister. What does he do? He attends sports events, lies time and time again, and generally sucks up to Georgie Bush.

I think that partial anarchy is the best – remove the highest levels of control and management, and have the lower levels elected by those they are responsible for.

I’d like to know what everyone else thinks about anarchy, is it possible? Desirable? Simply better then the alternatives?
