No Doubt

June 29th 2006 03:04
I'm going to start this by saying "why Gwen Stefani? Why?" she had an ok pop punk/ska band going, and then she decided to also release solo skank pop (yes, it's plenty a real genre) I mean, have any of you heard her butcher 'These Boots are Made for Walking', by Nancy Sinatra? Or even worse, have you seen the video clip?? honestly, either make a video clip, or make porn - trying to mix them just doesn't work.

Anyhoo, No Doubt formed in 1986, and originally only had a keyboardist and 2 singers. I have no idea what their music sounded like at this stage, but it was probably alot better then their recent stuff. A lot more unique at least due to the general lack of instruments.

Their third album, Tragic Kingdom has some good, if poppy songs. Ex Girlfriend, Just a Girl and Don't Speak, however, from here they became even more poppy.

Check out the official website, or don't.

Peace

Too bad it was Jessica Simpson who butchered that cover, not Gwen Stefani.

Yeah Gwen Does do soft porn videos tho but yeah unfortunately Jessica Simpson did that cover and everyone knows that she is a talentless bimbo and a horrible actress as well as selling out to the "pro-activ" pimple company despite the fact she obviously is not a naturally pimple prone person, although her sister has a truly pleasdant voice despite the lip synching fiasco in canada a couple of years ago, it is a shame that she got crucified for that despite being one of hundreds of acts that lip sync over the world, otherwise there would be no way some of them could keep up with their hectic schedules. Anyway back on topic Rcok steady was an awesome album in parts despite some poppy shite like Hey Baby
