Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

August 7th 2006 07:46
Scott is on exams this week, so I am filling in for him for ht next five posts. As I'm moving houses the posts may not be quite as detailed as normal. I'm going to start with a band review of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are a post-punk band that are renown for their originality, with Nick Cave being an interesting song writer.

Nick Cave himself is interested in the arts and has written a number of plays, as well as showing an interest in movies. The music of both Nick Cave and that of the Bad Seeds has appeared in many movies and Nick Cave has explored a range of musical styles. All of this is indicative of the broad appeal and experimental style of much of the Bad Seed's work.

During his time with the Bad Seeds, Nick Cave influenced the songs greatly, and many of them were personal confessionals. His songs are normally dark and haunting, and deal with a variety of themes, from god to murder and madness. They were also influenced by his alcohol and heroin use.

Nick Cave is an Australian singer who produces original, evocative songs that will appeal to those who have had enough of the same old music.

Yeah someone listens to nick cave lol, not enough people listen to him or know who he is which is not surprising considering he is so good and constantly comes up with new and inventive rythms lyrics and that deep velvet voice is awesome, it seems people aren't so into that type of thing these days, go techno!!! *pukes in corner.

I'm a huge Nick Cave fan and have seen a few of his gigs. It's amazing how much of himself he puts into his shows, they are so theatrical (not in the melodramatic sense), emotive, passionate. I love his lyrics, to me he a poet, a writer, a strong story-teller.
