Recently got a hold of their singles collection, 1984-98. I'd heard of the band many times, usually on Wikipedia, because they are claimed as inspiration by quite a few rock/punk bands.
It was good to find I knew some of their songs... Such as "Blues from a Gun" and "happy When it Rains"
They sound is, I dunno, heavy rock - deffiantely not punk. The band is Irish, but I can't pick up too much of an accent, compared to someone like Bono from U2. They sorta remind me of the Smashing Pumpkins for some odd reason.

Movies and Life
They are quite a find aren't they? I love them and saw them here in Sydney at the Enmore Centre when I was about 16. They were fantastic, such an experience. I wouldn't know how to reference them either and I think that's part of their appeal to me.
