Freecycle

December 8th 2006 06:47
Yes, it has a lame name, but oh well.

Once again, I am shamelessly advertising, but it's a non profit organisation, so who cares.

Freecycle is a worldwide organisation of sorts, based around numerous local groups in indivdual cities and towns.

The premise of Freecycle is that, instead of putting your own furniture or appliances in a landfill, you advertise them on their website, and other members can then ring you and take the item off your hands.

Thus the previous owner doesn't have to bother getting rid of the item

The new owner gets an object for free
and Mother Earth deffinately gains, due to the re-use of old items.

The only people who don't gain out of this are those who sell new stuff, but they for the most part are large chains with more money then they need. Oh, and pawn shops, but they usually pay extortionately low prices for stuff anyway.

So yeah, go to the site

Peace

I'm Back

November 20th 2006 22:55
That's right, I'm back from schoolies, full of booze and a renewed passion for Led Zeppellin, and yet also filled with a bitter dissapointment, for one of the guys there took up his LP's and a record player, and I thought that I would finally get a chance to listen to Mike Oldfield's album 'Tubular Bells'. For years I have heard how ridiculously good this album is, and yet I have never seen it on cd, and I haven't seen a working record player in quite some time.

Well, it was not to be, the guy's record player refused to go louder then a whisper, lousy old technology.

SCHOOLIES!!!

November 10th 2006 09:14
That's right, I'm off to schoolies. (not the Gold Coast schoolies, because that has become way too strictly controlled lately, and I'd prefer a more secluded schoolies anyway.

I finished my exams last wednesday, and now I am off to drink for a week solid, so I won't be making any posts for the week. Except - I'll write one now and set it to post itself sometime round wednesday.

Hey everyone.

The lack of posts has been due to a combination of being busy, my internet being broken and a tomahawk to the head. Anyhoo, listening to Triple J about a minute ago, I heard about an awesome edition of their show, Short Fast Loud that will be on from 10 O clock tonight (Wednesday the 25th)

Placebo Gig Review

September 21st 2006 02:59
Last Night Was the Placebo gig. Man it was good.

First thing that amazed me about the gig, was how easy it was to get to the front. I arrived an hour and a half before the doors opened, and I managed to get a spot in the second row, right in front of Molko. Some guys I knew (friend of a friend sorta thing) had lined up since 11, now that's dedicated.
