I was recently given a promo cd for Rock Ya Baby, an upcoming release by Dj Peril (whoever he is)
Now, I'm not much a fan of rap, besides some early stuff when it was still closely linked to funk, but I had a listen to this song anyway.
Surprisingly enough, I wasn't fussed by the song (haven't listened to any of the remixs of it yet.)
It's very repetitive and pretty boring.
There's an angry mix, but that just sounds shit.
There's a dance type of mix, but I couldn't give that a chance, there was a highly synthesised drum beat that emulated bass snare repeated throughout - which really ruins any song.
This mix I'm trying just now is alright actually. It's very much in the style of Aussie hip hop, although the bit with the chick singing is as annoying as the original. Anyway, its the peril's rocked out remix.

and an acousitic, where the verses are different, but the chorus is just as annoying as the original.
Anyhoo, for Aussie hip hop fans, the Aucoustic and perils rocked out ones are woth a listen
