Cops Make Good Targets

This album name, and occasional catch phrase is certainly the motto of many Punk bands, from (on the album) Police Truck by the Dead Kennedys, Police Story by Black Flag and Fuck Police Brutality by Anti Flag, all of which are criticisms of the prevelant racism and violence in the police systems, to Follow the Cops Back Home, which is more of an attack on the indiviual police by Placebo, there are a wide range of criticisms against, one of Punk's major enemies.
Got no clue what I'm talking about? Go HERE to listen to previews of each song from 'Cops Make Good Targets'
Unfortunately, there is no way to listen to a sample of Placebo's anti police song, nor the song talked about below, so you'll have to hear it somewhere else. You can hear some tracks of Palcebo's new album though.
And yet, as is so often the case, the best song in the genre has to be by the Clash, with, not their version of 'I Fought the Law' or even the innovative 'Police and Thieves', but with 'This is England' - where the heavy criticism of the anti Asian racism and general brutality shown by the police is contrasted against the soothing, almost chant of "This is England"
"This is England
The land of (il)legal dances
This is England
Land of a thousand stances
This is England
This knife of Sheffield steel
This is England
This is how we feel"
Peace
