Brian Eno was (and is) an electronica/Art Rock/ Glam Rock musician from England
During the 70's he was the Keyboardist and Synth for the Glam Rock band 'Roxy Music'
His stuff is really chilled out and relaxed - very much Ambient Music, some of which is fairly boring, but some of which is absolutely awesome.

if you are really interested in the sound however, there is an album that he did with david byrne (talking heads) a few years ago now, 'my life in the bush of ghosts'. very brilliant!

Roxy Music and Talking Heads were excellent, especially the early Roxy Music he was involved in. His stuff with Bowie was also awesome as is the song Needle In A Camel's Eye. However, and this is a big however, I can't stand U2 and I blame him for their fame. (HA!) Also, ambient music? Please, maybe one album, but let's keep that slot free for some shitty balding man with a keyboard and no talent.
