C- Crass
D- Dead Kennedy's
E- Echo and the Bunnymen

Echo and the Bunnymen
Creepy, but an awesome band nevertheless.

I- Iggy Pop
J- Joy Division
K- Krondstant Uprising
L- Less then Jake
M- Meat Puppets
N- Nina Hagen

Anarchy

April 26th 2006 23:44
I’m not much of an Anarchist really – it is fairly impractical in my opinion, but in the shower I realised (where else could I have had such thoughts...)

The only, truly useless people in our country are the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. For example, it seems to me that the students and teachers combined would know more whom they want in the department of education. Principals could be elected by the school, instead of placed there by someone who has no idea what the school is like.

Placebo

April 26th 2006 04:38
Another modern band that is made great by its lead singer (Brian Molko), Placebo's songs vary between songs about Molko's confused life, strange, even kinky love songs and political protests.

Anyone who's heard "The Bitter End" and nothing else of Placebo, don't judge them on that one song; as usual it's inaccurate to judge a band by their most popular song. "Slave to the Wage" or "Black Eyed" are better examples of their music and lyrics.

Reclaim the Streets

I got talking to someone with a 'Reclaim the Streets' badge the other day, and found out about a festival I’d never heard of before.

The Sex Pistols

England’s bad boys, the Sex Pistols (Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Steve Jones and Paul Cook) achieved their fame more through their lewd behaviour the their musical talents.

Rage Against the Machine

April 20th 2006 23:55
You see, I'm not completely obsessed with 70's and 80's punk. As much as I hate saying this about a band, it's the lead singer that makes Rage Against so great. Audioslave, which is the same lineup except for the lead singer just doesn't do it for me.

Zack de la Rocha
Is it just me, or does he look like an angry Bob Marley?

Definition of Punk

April 19th 2006 23:16
There's a lot of definitions of what is punk, and I'm not saying mine is the one correct one, just use it as a starting point.

Most noticable of all, the majority of punk songs are short, fast, loud and full of energy. There are noticable exceptions, Rage Against the Machine sing some fair length songs, Crass's songs vary in length and tempo. But you should be able to mosh to most punk songs

Hey everyone, this is the first post of a blog that hopes to spread the messege of punk music, and maybe also to bitch about some of the modern bands that call themselves punks. As you might have guessed, i love the old punk. I'm not claiming that Punk is Dead, but its certainly taken a few gunshots to the nads. Well, as this is the start of my blog, i'll write about a band that started it all - The Ramones. They are unique amongst punk rock bands in that they actually sound very similar to both rock music and punk. The Ramones have now sold more T-shirts and other paraphenalia then albums. You would have no idea how many people will wear a Ramones shirt and have no idea who they are. If any of these Ramones 'fans' heard the Ramones singing 'Havanna Affair' or 'Pinhead' I bet they'd be horrified.
